Winter swan song
Our never-ending winter is indeed coming to an end. Byron says brighter skies are on tap for this first day of spring and warmer with high temperatures in the upper 50s/lower 60s. High pressure will stay locked in our area until Friday bringing warmer southerly winds. Dry weather until late Friday night as a cold front will bring scattered rain and colder temps for the weekend.
Four military search planes are trying to find two large objects picked up by satellite imaging in a remote part of the Indian Ocean. It's part of a continuing search for a missing Malaysian airliner with 239 people aboard which was deliberately turned to a new course March 8 while on its way to Beijing.
Homemade bombs found
An Evansville man has been arrested after homemade bombs were found inside his home and he threatened to kill an Evansville police officer. Officers have arrested 48-year-old Franz Corvette Costello on multiple charges.
Many families experienced a financial strain during the Great Recession. For some, it was so great they lost their homes. Deanna Allbrittin is Live at Sunrise to tell us about an event today aimed at trying to help get people back on their feet.
