DUBOIS CO., IN (WFIE) -

A Jasper man is killed in a rollover crash in Dubois County Wednesday night.

It happened on State Road 56, east of Haysville, just before 10:00 p.m.

50-year-old Donald Humphrey was driving westbound on State Road 56, east of County Road 175 East, when he lost control of his tractor-trailer in Sendelweck Curve. State police say the truck rolled onto the driver's side as Humphrey attempted the curve and slide nearly 70 feet off of the south side of the road.

State police say a trooper drove upon the crash, climbed into the cab of the truck through the back glass, and attempted to revive Humphrey. The trooper's attempts were unsuccessful; Humphrey died at the scene.

Troopers say the truck, owned by Tri-State Live Haul, was loaded with 924 turkeys.

State Road 56 was closed for nearly five hours while crews removed the vehicle and turkeys from the scene.
