HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -

Three Kenergy linemen are being recognized for trying to save a Corydon man they say was having a heart attack.

The men say they aren't heroes, they were just doing what they thought anyone would do.

Allen Singer, Jacob Courtney, and Bradley Sugg, who are linemen for Kenergy, were working and driving in Corydon last week when they saw an elderly couple on the ground.

When the linemen noticed that the man they saw was having a heart attack, they stopped and tried helping him.

They used an AED and performed CPR on the man, who collapsed. Unfortunately, though, the man died.

"I think God wanted us there at that time because you know we weren't able to bring this gentleman back to life, but we were a lot of comfort to the wife. Had we not been there, she would've been there all alone by herself to deal with this," Singer says.

Officials with Kenergy says this is the first time they know of one of their AED's being used. Every lineman has one.
