HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) -

Authorities say a large drug operation was broken up in Hopkins County on Monday afternoon.

Officials say after a month-long investigation, Daniel Young was arrested during a raid in the 100 block of Terry Road in St. Charles and faces several drug related charges.

Authorities tell us the raid yielded around 100 to 150 pounds of high grade pot, weapons and thousands of dollars in suspected drug money.

Officials tell us Young was supplying drugs to several people. Authorities say he was caught after a controlled buy of 10 pounds of pot Monday morning.

"That's the way it appears at this point, is he was probably a distributor with the amount that he's got here. We know definitely it's not just for personal use. So we're sure he's supplying the area and possibly other counties as well," says Lori Blakel, Director of the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force.

We're told more charges and arrests are possible in the case.

The Ohio County Sheriff's Office, Hopkins County Sheriff's Office, Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and Kentucky State Police all participated in the operation.
