OAKLAND CITY, IN (WFIE) -

Oakland City is acquiring a new piece of property, property that used to belong to Wells Fargo bank.

The bank is donating a property at 510 Polk St. The property was foreclosed to the city.

City Manager Tim Dyer says this has never happened before and he is excited about it.

Dyer says the bank recently put a new roof on the house and the inside also appears to be in good condition.

"We're planning on auctioning the house off and that money will go into our general fund and help us out on our tax cuts that we got cut this year on our funding to the city will help out in a lot of different areas," said Dyer.

Dyer said there are already four or five interested buyers.
