A Henderson teen is facing charges after bringing a pellet gun onto school grounds.
Officials say a 16-year-old male juvenile, who is also a high school student, carried a pellet gun onto the grounds of South Heights Elementary after school hours and showed it to other juveniles.
Police say the teen did not point it at anyone. Authorities say the teen then put the pellet gun away and left school property.
The Henderson Police Department was notified of the incident after receiving calls from the parents of the witnesses.
Officials say the teen was located by police and the pellet gun was placed into property at the Henderson Police Department.
Police say the teen is charged with two counts of Disorderly Conduct, 2nd Degree.
Henderson County Schools administrators say they will be following protocol and board policy regarding disciplinary action.
