Land slip causes headache for drivers on KY-281 in Hopkins Co.

HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) -

A Hopkins County road is restricted to one lane due to land slippage.

Kentucky Transportation officials found a land slip around the 14 mile-marker of KY-281, about 60-feet of the northbound lane.

A smaller land slip was found along the southbound lane nearby.

A geotechnical engineering team will be evaluating the site over the new few days and will develop a long-range strategy to repair the damaged roadway.

KYTC engineers believe they may have to wait a week or more for soil in the area to become dry before they can repair work.

Officials say motorists should use appropriate caution in the area.
