MT. VERNON, IN (WFIE) -
A local business is helping young patients at St. Mary's hospital sleep a little easier.
The Quilters Nest put on a pillow case blitz and the store exceeded its goal of 200 and collected 640 pillow cases with more coming in.
On Friday, the pillow cases arrived at the St. Mary's Pediatric's Unit and 9-year-old Aidan VonDeraghe picked a football themed pillow case.
A relative of the owner of the Quilter's Nest is a pediatric nurse and that's how this all started.
"It's because of my daughter in law, Kara Brass, who works for the cardiology unit here at St. Mary's," said Mary Brass. "She was coming to my home on a regular basis wanting pillow cases for some of her young patients so I decided to have a pillow case blitz at the Quilter's Nest."
