EVSC extending another 6 school days to make up for snow day

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The EVSC has announced plans to make up the most recent snow day taken on March 3.

One hour will be added to six consecutive days, from March 31 - April 7.

The EVSC says principals agreed that making up the snow day this way provides the best use of instructional time and educational benefit to students.

School officials say adding a day after the school year is over, or on a Saturday, would not be the best of time educationally.

It would also have a substantial impact on the EVSC financially and would be more disruptive to family plans.
