GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -

Friends react after two teens are seriously injured in a four-wheeler accident Tuesday night.

Both of the Gibson Southern High School students, 16-year-old Isaac Sollman and 17-year-old Grant Zilliak, remain in the hospital in critical condition and could face a lengthy recovery.

Their friends say it's been a rough 24 hours and they just want to see the pair get better.

"It could have been any of us. Just seeing them go through what any of us could, it's kind of hard," friend Marshal Jones says.

The two teens were rushed to hospitals Tuesday night after colliding head on while riding their four-wheelers.

"I just was shocked and I just didn't know what to do. Just something you never really thought would happen," says Brant Elpers.

Some of the people who know Isaac and Grant best say the pair is well-liked and fun to be around.

Friends say one of their favorite things to do is ride ATVs.

"Basically every night of the week, any night it's warm, they're out riding," Evan Gick says.

It's something they all do together all the time.

"It could happen to anybody. It could happen to any one of us any time," Elpers says.

Close friends say the accident won't stop them from riding. In fact, they're going to keep four-wheeling in Isaac and Grant's honor.

"Just try to do what they would want to be doing. Just riding, having a good time," Elpers shares.

Because officials say Isaac and Grant weren't wearing helmets, they're going to make sure they put them on every time, while they keep their good friends in their thoughts and prayer.

"We all kind of said that no matter what, we are always going to wear our helmets," Elpers says.

"The fact that they're most likely going to make it through is great. Just to keep them in your mind and prayers," Gick shares.

Officials say drugs and alcohol weren't factors in the accident, but they believe speed and limited visibility played a role.

Isaac is at Deaconess Hospital and Grant is at IU Medical Hospital in Indianapolis. Friends say they believe both teens will recover, but expect it to take a long time.
