VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

Evansville police say a second person has been arrested in connection with a Friday night shooting.

Police say 22-year-old Todd Covington is now in jail with no bond. Earlier Wednesday, several Indiana law enforcement agencies served a felony arrest warrant on 24-year-old Lanico Payne.

Indiana State Police says Payne was wanted out of Vanderburgh County for his alleged involvement in a shooting in Evansville that happened Friday night on Blackford Avenue. Police say 33-year old Demetrius Fingers was found next to a porch with at least seven gunshot wounds.

The investigation into the shooting in ongoing and police says they are still looking for a third suspect. Authorities aren't calling it gang related just yet, but we are told that Convington does have known gang affiliations.

Authorities say Fingers is alert, talking and expected to survive.

Officers say they located Payne in the Marathon gas station parking lot located at Burkhardt and Virginia.

ISP says Payne was arrested without incident and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where he is being held without bond. Payne is charged with attempted murder.
