Jasper Library could take those with overdue books to court

JASPER, IN (WFIE) -

The Jasper Library is not messing around when it comes to returning borrowed books.

The library director tells 14 News the board approved a plan to take people to court if they don't return books.

Last year, they ran an amnesty program for those with overdue books, but more than $50,000 worth of borrowed materials are still out.

The library is sending out letters warning if the books aren't returned within the next 30 days, the library will file a small claims case.
