ISP: Evansville man busted on drug charges after getting stopped for speeding

An Evansville man is arrested after authorities say drugs were found in his car during a traffic stop in Posey County. 

Indiana State Police say just before 8 Thursday night troopers stopped 28-year-old Travis Schoening for speeding on S.R. 62 near Carson School Road.

ISP says a K-9 unit was nearby and came to help with the traffic stop.

While walking around Schoening's vehicle the ISP says the K-9 alerted to the presence of drugs.

ISP says when troopers searched the inside of the vehicle they found suspected meth and synthetic drugs.

Schoening was arrested and taken to the Posey County Jail where he is currently being held on bond. 

Arrested and Charges: 
• Travis Schoening, 28, 1425 Oakhill Road, Evansville, IN 
1. Possession of Meth, Class D Felony 
2. Possession of Synthetic Drug or Lookalike Substance, Class D Felony
