The Indiana State Senate has passed the so-called "scooter bill."
State Senators voted 26-22 in favor of House Bill 1343. The bill would require scooters to be registered with the BMV and have some sort of license plate.
It was supposed to be read on Monday, but was delayed to the high number of bills in second readings.
Registration and excise fees would cost $27.30 per year.
The bill now heads to the governor's desk.
