Indiana State Police are searching for a missing Perry County man.
Troopers say 55-year-old George "Ronald" Schmidt Jr., was reported missing by family on Sunday.
George "Ronald" Schmidt Jr., is a 55 year old white male, six feet tall and approximately 200 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel colored eyes and was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, blue jeans, tennis shoes, ball cap and glasses.
State police investigation shows that he left his home in Branchville on February 27. After leaving, his family knows he went to the Social Security Office in New Albany, IN and then to Elizabeth, IN, where he applied for a new job.
Troopers say the then went to his father's house in Corydon, IN. He stayed and visited with his father for a few hours and then went to Mauckport, IN to visit a friend, who wasn't home.
After that, authorities believe he went to the River Bottom Inn, located in Mauckport. He arrived at the River Bottom Inn around 5:00 p.m. Between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., he left the bar, leaving his coat and an unfinished drink.
State police say his vehicle is a silver 1999 Honda CRV, bearing Indiana In God We Trust License plates 284BBH and was found parked at the bar.
The family stated the last time they heard from George "Ronald" Schmidt Jr., was around 8:30 p.m., the same night he went missing. He did not show up for his new job today and his family is deeply concerned about his safety.
