HOPKINSVILLE, KY (WFIE) -

Authorities say the Hopkinsville, Kentucky man wanted for the attempted murder of an Owensboro man has been taken into custody.

Hopkinsville Police Department say Timothy Brown was located on Friday at the Winners Circle Motel on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Clarksville, Tennessee.

That warrant for attempted murder had been out for Brown since a February 23 shooting that took place outside a bar on West 7th Street in Hopkinsville. He's accused of shooting 28-year-old Robert Fleming of Owensboro.

Authorities say Fleming was shot in the torso. He was taken to the hospital and later transferred to Vanderbilt in Nashville. No motive has been released, but police say the two men did not know each other.

Brown is in the Montgomery County Jail awaiting extradition.

Many agencies helped in the arrest. Some of those authorities were with Hopkinsville Police Department's Investigative Bureau and the Western Kentucky Gun Crimes Task Force. The Clarksville Police Department and their SWAT team also helped take Brown into custody.
