Robin Montgomery, 55. Robin Montgomery, 55.

A man is found not guilty of attempting to murder a police officer last year.

The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office says 55-year-old Robin Montgomery was found not guilty of trying to run over a police officer with his van in August 2013 while trying to get away from a meth lab.

Officers on scene believed Montgomery swerved his van at them in his attempted escape.

Montgomery was found guilty on two counts of the lesser charge of criminal recklessness instead.

He was also found guilty of Dealing in Methamphetamine – B Felony and Resisting Law Enforcement – D Felony.

A sentencing hearing has been set for March 19 at 1:00 p.m.

The Prosecutor's Office says if the charges are run concurrent, he is facing between 6-20 years.

Montgomery is also facing similar charges in Warrick County.
