A Pine Belt registered nurse has been arrested by the Attorney General's office for depraved heart murder.
According to WDAM in Hattiesburg, 28-year-old April Grissom of Petal turned herself in to investigators with the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit following her indictment by the Lamar County Grand Jury on Second Degree Murder charges.
She is accused of turning off the machines which were keeping the alleged victim alive.
According to the indictment, Grissom worked as an R.N. at Wesley Medical Center where the 77-year-old victim was being treated.
If convicted, Grissom could face life in prison. WDAM reports that she was booked into the Lamar county detention center on $10,000 bond.
