WEBSTER CO., KY (WFIE) -

A Sebree man is arrested on attempted murder charges in connection with a police chase in Webster County.

The pursuit ended Tuesday evening on KY 132 near the county road department when the suspect's car got a flat tire and he surrendered.

Along with attempted murder, Tommy R. Branson, 61, is charged with assault, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, tampering with physical evidence and fleeing/evading police.

Kentucky State Police say this all started on Vaughn Street in Clay as officers and deputies responded to a report of shots fired into a residence.

Investigators say the suspect struck a deputy with his vehicle and fired more shots into the home.

Troopers say officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect, but no one was hit.

The deputy, who was hit by the vehicle, was treated and released at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

Branson was also arrested in July 2013 in connection to an arson investigation.
