Evansville ARC celebrating 60 years

Posted: Updated:

Evansville ARC is celebrating their 60th year in operation this year.

On Monday, they showed off their newly renovated facility. Officials say it was in desperate need for roof repairs.

Since ARC relies on government money and donations, it had never run a capital campaign before. They turned to Bob Jones, the President of Old National Bank, for help and advice.

Jones toured the facility on a rainy day, and was immediately struck by the passion of the staff of ARC and knew he needed to help with the repairs to the roof, as well as paint and flooring throughout.

"What I really said yes to is the passion. It is with the passion with the folks that work here everyday and what they give to their clients. The passion of the board that is so involved in this process that care so deeply about Evansville ARC. It's the passion for the clients themselves in what they experience at Evansville ARC," Jones says.

Over 300 companies donated to the campaign and they raised $2.1 million.

The non profit provides service for around 750 adults and children with disabilities.
