A fundraiser took place on Sunday for a terminally ill girl in Gibson County. It was not your typical fundraiser. It was one that focused on fun.
The typical fundraiser has a silent auction, maybe some games and other ways to raise money.
A friend told Hailee Cunningham's family that she wanted to host a princess party for her and her friends. There was face and nail painting and hair stylists for the girls, as well as balloon animals and hair coloring for the boys.
Hailee's mom, Rachel Cunningham, told 14 News that while her main goal is to keep Hailee comfortable in this time, Hailee told her she wanted to be there. She said she was excited when she told her that because she knows how important her friends are to her right now.
"A lot of her friends have missed her because it's the winter. They've been sick and we haven't got her out as much. It's very important. She needs that socializing with her friends. We've been doing some play dates since we got home," Rachel said.
There was also a fundraiser Saturday night for Hailee that raised close to $10,000 for the Cunninghams.
