MUHLENBERG CO., KY (WFIE) -

Hundreds gathered in Felix Martin Hall to not only remember the nine lives lost in that fire, but to also celebrate the two survivors of the deadly Muhlenberg County house fire, Chad and Kylie Watson.

Watsonstrong shirts flooded Muhlenberg West campus to sing songs of praise, shed tears in remembrance, embrace the lives lost, and hear from Chad.

"I'm not up here to tell you about each and everyone of their personalities, how they were so unique and how they were so special. I'm up here to tell you what gave them life," Chad said to the crowd.

Many know why Chad wanted the entire community to be there on Sunday. It's because these are the people who have been here from the start.

"By a few hours after it actually happened people were already banding together and figuring out things they could do to help. They were just there, people went on site to see what they could do, people were calling, texting, calling the school, calling everywhere what can we do, what can we do to help," said Vicki Yonts, a family friend.
