The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says construction to improve the intersection of State Road 64 and State Road 65 south in Gibson County is tentatively scheduled to begin on or after May1.
The intersection work will include:
- A dedicated left turn lane for westbound S.R. 64
- A dedicated right turn lane for northbound S.R. 65
- Increasing the right turn lane for eastbound S.R. 64
- Reduction of the super-elevated curve
- A New stop light
During construction, motorists will find lanes narrowed to 10-feet and reduced speed limits of 40 mph.
There will be different lane restrictions depending upon the phase of the construction work.
Law enforcement will monitor the work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and workers at the project site.
The road improvements are estimated to be substantially complete by December 1 of this year with all work being complete by May 1, 2015.
