Tornado watch issued for Tri-State

Posted: Updated:

A tornado watch has been issued for the entire Tri-State.

The tornado watch will expire at 9:00 p.m. CST.

According to Jeff Lyons, storms are firing in Missouri and will track into the Tri-State between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

We have the threat for damaging winds and possible tornadoes, although the area of greatest concern is over the southeastern corner of the Tri-State that includes Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Ohio, McLean, Daviess and Hancock counties.

Storms will exit the region before midnight and cooler, dry air will blow in with 30-50 mph gusts overnight.

The weather will settle down on Friday and will remain dry and cooler over the weekend with highs in the 40's and lows in the 30's and 20's.
