The Warrick County Sheriff confirms that the death of man whose body was found Monday at Alcoa is now a homicide investigation.
Officials suspect that the body of 35-year-old Joseph Nelson, of Martinsville, Indiana, was brought into the facility with a load of coal on a rail car or coal truck.
The coal comes into Alcoa from various sites.
No word yet on how Nelson was killed.
An autopsy was performed Monday evening.
During the course of this investigation, officials have been retracing nelson's whereabouts in the past several weeks. 14 News has learned that Nelson was recently released from a county jail in Indiana.
