Southridge cheerleader makes unbelievable half-court shot

Posted: Updated:

A Southridge High School cheerleader is getting a lot of attention after an incredible basketball shot was caught on video.

It happened last week when the cheerleaders were in Vincennes waiting for the start of a sectional basketball matchup between the Lady Raiders and Jasper.

Southridge Senior Hailey Lubbehusen does two things in the video that a lot of people can't do: a flip, and a successful shot from half court.

"We got a girl to sneak us a basketball over. We're like, 'We'll, try it a little bit.' First, completely missed the basketball, didn't even pick it up. Second time, still pretty far out there. Third time, went in. I flipped out. The ten people in the crowd flipped out. I could not stop smiling the rest of the game," Lubbehusen tells 14 News.

She says her cheerleading coach asked her to attempt the shot and she hit it on just her third attempt.

Lubbehusen also says a few of her friends have sent this video to ESPN in hopes of getting it on SportsCenter's Top Ten Plays.
