Police searching for suspect who threatened hotel worker

PRINCETON, IN (WFIE) -

Princeton Police are searching for a suspect who threatened a hotel worker at the Hampton Inn over the phone.

How it happened makes this case so unusual.

Detectives say they believe the call came from the parking lot of the Express Inn, which is located across SR-64 from Hampton Inn.

Detectives say a man called an employee at the Hampton Inn and threatened to shoot her if she did not do what he asked.

Police say the man told the woman to participate in phone sex with him.

Detectives believe the man was watching her from the Express Inn parking lot at night with lights on and a pair of binoculars.

Detective Mike Hurt says they are doing all they can to track the suspect but they have yet to find him.

"We've got a subpoena for the phone records on the incoming phone calls to the hotel," said Hurt. "We've also increased patrols in the hotel parking lots. We have officers going in and talking to the ladies."

If you saw a suspicious car in the parking lot of the Express Inn, call the Princeton Police Department.
