Early morning robbery in northern Vanderburgh County

Posted: Updated:

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office is investigating an early morning armed robbery.

It happened just before 3:00 a.m. Thursday at Circle S on Highway 41 near Hillsdale Road.

Deputies say a man wearing a green hoodie, that was partially covering his face, and dark glasses showed a pistol to the clerk and demanded money.

Investigators tell us the suspect got away with an unknown amount of cash and ran north from the store.

K-9s were able to track a scent to a church about three blocks from Circle S.

Deputies believe the man had a car waiting there and took off.

The clerk was the only person inside the gas station at the time.
There were no injuries.

Investigators are looking at surveillance video from inside the store.
