For the fifth time in less than a month, authorities have arrested an accused child molester in the Tri-State. This time in Dubois County.
Jasper police arrested 44-year-old Brian Higgins on charges of child molestation and child solicitation.
Detective Rick Chambers says Higgins inappropriately touched a 7-year-old boy at Higgins' home in Jasper.
"School personnel are better trained in how to listen to young people that might be making some allegations. This whole multi-disciplinary team, forensic interview thing, is something that's relatively new. That's just come up in the last few years. So, we're being able to better handle these cases, investigate them better and more thoroughly," Chambers says.
He says police are investigating other allegations involving the suspect.
