Western KY health leaders to give update on community wellness plan

Health leaders from across the western Kentucky region will give an update on the community health improvement plan at an event Wednesday in Owensboro.

Each year the Green River District Health Department gives an update on the health status of all the counties in western Kentucky.

The department is inviting the public to join them for a lunch to learn ways to improve the health of their community.

The event will be Wednesday at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital auditorium. Lunch will be served at noon and the programs will last until three o'clock.

Registration is required to attend, you can register online here.

"A healthier community is a happier community, its fun for you to live in a community like that, so getting that community healthy it effects everyone, whether your in education, transportation, it doesn't matter what realm your in, if you are living there you want it to be healthy," said Deborah Fillman, Health Director.

The department will have another lunch on Thursday in Henderson that the public is welcome to attend.

It will be at the Thelma B. Johnson Early Learning Center at noon.
