(WMC-TV) - Horn Lake police are still investigating the death of an 11-year-old found in his home last week, but they still have not released how he died.
Family members fear he may have been abused.
Rebecca Gaines is related to the boy's family. She identified him as Tyler Raines and but says she has not seen him since his biological father got custody several years ago.
"He ends up getting custody, and when he did he quit letting the extended, I guess is the better word, family, see them at all," said Gaines.
Horn Lake police says the boy was found at the home. Gaines said her family members saw the child's body at the funeral home and are having trouble forgetting those images.
"She told me that it looked like he had two black eyes, and she said it looked like he had cigarette burns on his face, and she said his arms looked like they had been branded," said Gaines.
Detectives would not comment on the condition of the body or the allegations of abuse. No one answered when Action News knocked at the family's door for a comment.
