MUHLENBERG CO., KY (WFIE) -

Kentucky State Police says an overturned semi created a fowl situation in Muhlenberg County.

It happened around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of KY 2584 and KY 181, about three miles south of Bremen.

KSP says their preliminary investigation revealed that 49-year-old Dennia Johnson, of Houston, MS, was operating a 2004 Mack tractor-trailer westbound on KY 2584.

The tractor-trailer was hauling chickens.

Troopers say as Johnson was attempting to make a left turn from KY 2584 onto KY 181, the rear tires of the trailer dropped off the left shoulder of the roadway which caused the tractor-trailer to overturn.

The overturned vehicle blocked both lanes of KY 181.

Johnson was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

The road was still blocked Thursday morning from the intersection of KY 181 and KY 70 to just north of KY 2584. We are told crews were on scene clearing the debris and gathering the chickens.

The road has since reopened.
