New details were released on Friday on plans to build a fertilizer plant in Spencer County.
Ohio Valley Resources President Doug Wilson flew to Santa Claus, IN from New York to make the announcement at the Linconland Development Luncheon on Friday.
Wilson said the project will create a lot of jobs over the next few years.
He said this will be a nitrogen fertilizer plant and it will be installed in the area of U.S. 231 and County Rd 350 North, just outside of Rockport.
Wilson said this is a $1-billion project and when it's finished, 80 permanent jobs will need to be filled.
He said over the three year construction phase, Wilson said over 1,000 jobs will need to be filled.
Wilson said they hope to break ground on this project early this spring.
