A local Red Cross volunteer will be working to help several Illinois communities rebuild from the November tornadoes.

Barb Barlow signed paperwork on Tuesday to head to Peoria to supervise efforts. She will be assisting as families begin to move into more permanent homes.

Barlow says this will be her first assignment as a supervisor.

"I've been promoted to a supervisory status. They've added another zero to my paycheck and that's enough. $0.00 is plenty," Barlow says.

Barlow expects she'll be working in Peoria for three weeks.
