OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

The Owensboro Police Department is warning residents to be on the lookout after two recent robberies.

On Friday, January 24, police responded to two robbery calls in the 2600 block of Frederica Street. The first call happened around 1:00 a.m., and the second call took place just before 7:30 p.m.

Both cases involved a while male subject wearing a dark colored jacket, who approached his victims as they went to their vehicles in the parking lot of Wesleyan Park Plaza.

Officers say each victim reported being threatened with a weapon as the suspect demanded money. There were no injuries reported and the suspect(s) were able to flee on foot after taking money.

The Owensboro Police Department wants you to stay safe and offers these tips:
• Be aware of you surroundings
• If approached by a stranger in a threatening manner, make noise by either yelling or honking your vehicle's horn, lock your vehicle's doors, and seek assistance by going towards others or calling 9-1-1

If anyone has information about either of these cases, they are asked to contact the Owensboro Police Department at 270-687-8888, or leave an anonymous tip on the Crime Stoppers tip line at 270-687-8484.
