The American Red Cross Donorama Blood Drive in Evansville wrapped up on Monday night.
Approximately 300 blood drives across 25 states, including Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky, were canceled due to the snow and extreme cold. The cancellations resulted in a shortfall of nearly 8,800 blood and platelet donations since January 2.
The Red Cross said the goal for the day was to get over 200 donors. Donors with the most in-demand blood types were O positive, A negative and B negative.
As an added incentive to give, all donors at the blood drive were treated to a complimentary meal and desserts from the Olive Garden and Pie Pan.
Each donor also received a $5 KFC gift card and a $5 gift card from Star bucks.
