Deaconess Women's Hospital taking 'baby' steps

Deaconess Women's Hospital is taking steps to become even more 'baby friendly'.

The 'baby friendly' movement was sparked by research to bring healthier babies into the world.

Some of the features of a baby friendly hospital include breast feeding education and skin to skin contact between mother and baby.

It's a four-step process to be certified by the World Health Organization as baby friendly.

Right now, Deaconess is in the third phase and should be certified in August.

St. Mary's is also in the process of becoming 'baby friendly' certified.
