Exercise balls are rolling into Evansville classrooms to replace chairs.
According to one Evans Elementary School teacher, the balls are improving student's behavior and performance.
The fourth graders at Evans are calling them 'grape chairs'.
The class started using the exercise balls at the beginning of the school year and since then, the 'chairs' have been the talk of the school.
Lacy Baumgart, a reading teacher, said her students have gone up an average of four reading levels since school started.
Ms. Baumgart said it's because of the change that none of the students have been sent to the office for behavioral issues.
"There's a lot of kids that are overactive and it helps them focus and its just really cool to watch them think and bounce instead of them acting out or doing something they are not supposed to," said Ms. Baumgart.
There is talk about bringing more of the exercise balls into more classrooms around the Tri-State.
