Three separate gunfire incidents overnight in Evansville

Evansville Police are investigating three incidents overnight involving gunfire.

The first happened at 9:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of Savannah Drive.

Police say an apartment was hit by at least one bullet.  No one inside was hurt.

The second incident happened at 10:15 p.m. in the 800 block of Jackson Avenue.

A witness told police that four men got out of a Chevy Suburban and started walking away.

The witness then heard several shots being fired and saw the men running back to the SUV.

They left the area before officers arrived.  There were no reports of injuries.

The third incident happened at 1:45 a.m. in the 300 block of W. Missouri Avenue. 

There were several people, including small children, in the house of the time.

Angela Thompson told investigators that two men entered the house and demanded money.

Thompson was pistol whipped by one suspect when she called 911.

28-year-old Johnathon Gahl was shot in the stomach by the other suspect.  He was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

Both suspects left the scene in a white Chevy Monte Carlo or Impala before officers arrived.
