Hopkins County Health Department closes restaurant

The Hardee's restaurant, located at 770 E. Center Street in Madisonville, has been closed by the Hopkins County Health Department.

Our media partner, the Madisonville Messenger, says the Health Department received a complaint from a customer and went to investigate.

Officials say what was found at the restaurant was, "severe enough to require immediate closure."

There are no specific details as to what led to the closure because the Hopkins County Public Health Director says the department doesn't give out specific information about a complaint during an ongoing investigation.

A representative from Hardee's said the problems stem from an issue with the restaurant's pipes.

The Health Department will re inspect the restaurant after repairs are made, and if there are no violations, the Hardee's will be allowed to reopen.
