About 100 new jobs at Vuteq were announced in early 2013, but officials say that number has risen.
President of the Economic Development Corp. in Gibson County, Todd Mosby, told 14 News that Vuteq, which is a parts supplier for Toyota, created more jobs than expected when they expanded.
Out of those 170 new jobs, 20 to 25 still need to be filled.
The expansion included new employee break rooms with more restrooms and more lockers.
Mosby said Vuteq listened to its employees and this was what they were asking for.
He said the hiring process is in full swing. It takes time, but it also takes the right candidates.
"We continually look for more job growth and will continue to try to attract new jobs but, at the same time, we've got to have a labor force that's ready to fill whatever we are able to accommodate," said Mosby.
Mosby said Gibson County is excited about the jobs, calling it a huge win for the Tri-State and the state of Indiana.
