Candy cane sale raises money for animal care

A 'sweet' reward for the Vanderburgh Humane Society.

The student council at Resurrection School in Evansville sold over 1,800 candy grams (a candy cane with a note attached) the week before Christmas.

Wednesday afternoon, the students took the $940 they raised and went shopping.

They took the items they purchased to care for the animals and delivered them to the VHS.

The students presented a check as well.
