PERRY CO., IN (WFIE) -

A Perry County man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to the death of his fiancé.

The Perry County Prosecutor said Henry Whistle, of St. Croix, was accused of killing his fiancé in July of 2012. He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and will be facing 47 years in prison. Officials said there will be no appeals.

Investigators said Whistle and 31-year old Jamie Stowe got into a fight at their home. Whistle was originally charged with battery and then accused of kicking Stowe to death.

An autopsy showed Stowe's cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head, neck, chest and abdomen.

Officials said a formal hearing will be set for February 4 at Perry County Circuit Court.
