OCHS student hoping Jennifer Lawrence says 'yes' to prom date

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

Despite being months away, one Owensboro teen is asking someone special to the prom, but you might not guess who the special lady is.

Owensboro Catholic High School senior Nicholas Gray has been to prom before, but he wanted to make his last once special.

Gray says he's always been a fan of Louisville native Jennifer Lawrence's role in the movies, The Hunger Games and American Hustle.

He decided to upload a video of him on Youtube asking the actress to the big dance. The video so far has over 4,000 hits in less than two days.

It's also been featured on a number of blog websites.

Gray says he's been constantly hitting the refresh button on his email account, hoping to hear from Lawrence.

"I feel like she is really down to earth as an actress. Of all the actors in Hollywood, I feel like she would be the one to maybe reply so why not," Gray says.

Gray says he's going to wait until he hears back from Lawrence before he comes up with any back-up plans for prom night.
