Police arrest an Evansville man for stabbing his brother-in-law.

Officials say 53-year-old Calven Johnson stabbed his brother-in-law at a home on East Gum Street Sunday night.

Officers say a family member told them Johnson, who had been staying with him, had been drinking all day and asked him to leave the home after being disruptive.

Once outside, the victim states Johnson came at him with a knife, ultimately cutting his chest.

The victim states he defended himself and punched Johnson in the face.

Johnson was taken to Deaconess for his injury.

The victim refused medical treatment.
