Police: Henderson woman steals from church fund, turns self in

Posted: Updated:

A Henderson woman turned herself in to authorities for stealing money from a church fund.

Officials say Mary Dohrn took $68,000 from the Zion Baptist Church's fund.

The church contacted the Henderson County Sheriff's Office after they learned she had been stealing funds from the church for the last seven years.

Officials said Dohrn turned herself in Wednesday night. She was released on an unsecured $10,000 bond.

She faces felony charges on unlawful taking over $10,000 but under $1-million.
