Thursday night the University of Southern Indiana is opening its third Community Health Center.
This one is at the EVSC's Lodge Community School.
USI teamed up with EVSC and the local non-profit HOLA to create this new center.
That's because the goal is to focus on serving the Latino community where officials say there is a strong need, but the center will be open to everyone. Which is why the nurse practitioner who will work at this location is bi-lingual.
They'll start seeing patients January 14.
One USI Health Center is already open at Glenwood Leadership Academy and another is at Cedar Hall Elementary.
The Health Resources and Services Administration gave a five-year, more than one million dollar grant, to USI to pay for the centers.
There will be an open house at Lodge School on Tuesday, January 21 at 3:30.
Officials from USI, EVSC and HOLA will be there to talk to members of the community about the new center.
The USI Community Health Center at Lodge will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning January 14. Lodge Community School neighborhood residents may call (812) 435-0977 to make an appointment.
The center at Cedar Hall is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays.
The health center at Glenwood is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Thursday's, and Fridays, and Wednesday's 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
