GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -

A Gibson County teacher has been arrested and is facing charges. State police say he is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a high school student.

Indiana State Police arrested 32-year-old Kyle Scott of Newburgh and a teacher at Wood Memorial High School, Tuesday afternoon at his home.

Officials say Indiana State Police Detective Tobias Odom started a criminal investigation on December 19, after receiving information that Scott had an inappropriate relationship with a student in December.

During the investigation, troopers determined that between December 12-18, Scott had allegedly sent several inappropriate text messages to the student, which included at least one picture and video.

The investigation also revealed Scott allegedly fondled the student on at least one occasion.

He was taken to the Gibson County Jail, where he is currently being held on a $10,000 bond and charged with child seduction.
