ISP towing abandoned vehicles on major highways

INDIANA (WFIE) -

Indiana State Police will tow all abandoned vehicles from major highways starting Saturday.

Vehicles will be removed to allow the Indiana Department of Transportation's snow removal crews to operate in a more efficient manner.

Troopers at the Evansville district will begin towing abandoned vehicles around noon. All vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.

If you find your vehicle has been towed, you cal contact ISP at 1-800-852-3970.

The Evansville district serves Knox, Pike, Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties.

For road condition updates, you can call 1-800-261-ROAD (7623). Do not call local law enforcement or 911 for road information.
