Local shelter offers emergency overnight program

United Caring Services (UCS) is announcing that its White Flag Emergency overnight shelter program will be operational during the anticipated sub-freezing weather.

UCS says it strongly encourages anyone who is currently spending nights in places that do not have adequate heating to please utilize its facility on Ingle Street between 5th and 6th Streets in downtown Evansville.

The only requirement is that people cooperate with the UCS staff and do not disturb others.

The UCS White Flag Emergency Night Shelter program is in operation on any night whenever the forecasted temperature is going to be below 32 degrees for more than three hours overnight.
